In fact, in ancient Egypt, people used the natural deposits of sodium bicarbonate to make paint for their hieroglyphics. Baking soda is so versatile and it can be used as a cleaning agent, a natural remedy, a beauty care product, etc. You probably know certain uses of baking soda, but you probably didn’t know the following ones:
Balances the pH
When mixed with water, baking soda is a great remedy against allergic reactions from poison ivy.
It eases the removal of splinters
Baking soda can slow down the progression of kidney failure; Baking soda is naturally produced by the pancreas and kidneys to prevent kidney damage and when this production reduces, acid begins to pile up and the body is unable to neutralize it. This leads to cellular deterioration and the body has to remove the acid deposits and increase the level of nutrients, water, and oxygen.
How to use baking soda to repair the kidneys?
Put half a tsp of baking soda under the tongue and the next day; mix half a tsp of baking soda with half a tsp of salt and 1, 5 liters of water. Drink this solution for a period of 3 days.
People who suffer from kidney disease often have low levels of bicarbonate, a condition known as metabolic acidosis. According to statistics, around 3 million British have chronic kidney disease and around 37,800 of these patients need renal replacement therapy which costs 45,165 dollars yearly.
According to researchers from the Royal London Hospital, sodium bicarbonate was found to lower the negative effects of kidney disease. According to the leader of the team, M. Yaqoob, this is the first randomized controlled study of its kind and when used properly, a simple cure, like baking soda, can do wonders for patients suffering from kidney failure.
The study was done with 134 patients who had advanced kidney disease and metabolic acidosis. A small group of these patients was given a small amount of baking soda in the form of a pill for a period of 12 months. After the 12 months passed, their kidney function declined at a normal rate expected with normal aging. The need for dialysis was reduced.
The group which took baking soda had a 2/3 slower health deterioration than other participants. Only 9% of those who took baking soda had an accelerated progression of kidney disease. Yaqoob also added that baking soda prevents kidney inflammation and that this simple remedy betters the overall health of the patients and has the power to better the quality of their lives by increasing the chances for removal of the need for dialysis.
